One of my favorite modern day muses, Seth Godin, recently did a short post on his blog about being a yeasayer.
He writes….” yeasayer is the opposite of the naysayer, of course. This is the person who will find ten reasons why you should try something. The one who will embrace the possibility of better. The colleague to turn to when a reality check is necessary, because the reality is, it might work.”
I have always considered myself a yeasayer for others. Encouraging them to try whatever the “it” is that they are stumbling over or afraid to move forward on. But when it came to my own ideas and ambitions, I never quite took my own advice.
When I was wrestling with whether or not to start this blog, I was lucky enough to run the idea by 2 of my colleagues who were so enthusiastic, so supportive and so encouraging, that I couldn’t help but give it a try.
Thanks to those yeasayers (my cheerleaders), I am here.
It’s always nice to be on the receiving end of a “go for it!”
